Advantages and disadvantages of incandescent lamps:

Short life and low luminous efficiency. The visible light emitted by incandescent lamps is generally less than 10% of the electric energy. Most of the energy is converted into infrared radiation, producing a lot of heat. In addition, the ultraviolet radiation emitted by incandescent lamps is also high, which causes the fading of the irradiated articles.

2. fluorescent lamps and energy saving lamps

Fluorescent lamp and energy-saving lamp are low-pressure mercury vapor arc discharge lamps, usually long tube, each end has an electrode. The lamp contains mercury vapor with low pressure and a small amount of inert gas. The phosphor layer is coated on the inner surface of the lamp tube. Fluorescent lamps are divided into straight tube fluorescent lamps and compact fluorescent lamps. Straight tube fluorescent lamp can be divided into preheating start, fast start and instantaneous start several, according to the lamp tube can be divided into T12, T8, T5 several. The compact fluorescent lamp is developed to replace the incandescent lamp which consumes a lot of electricity. It has the characteristics of low energy consumption and long life.
